Meet the team
Having grown up together in the Chew Valley, lifelong school friends, fellow publicans and siblings duo Josh and Holly Eggleton and Josh and Lottie Bryant are the team behind The Pelican. It is very much a full partnership having worked together on its concept, renovation, decoration and running of it all. They'll all be working closely together on its vision going forward!

Featured in the Sunday Times Best Places to Live 2025, The Pelican sits at the heart of Chew Magna - a village that's as much about its people as it is about its beautiful surroundings.
With the rolling hills of the Mendips nearby and a landscape dotted with orchards, farmland, and old stone cottages, it's a place that feels both timeless and full of life.
Named after a ship, it's a historic inn that's now been thoughtfully restored and reconnected to its former events barn.

For over 400 years, The Pelican has been part of the fabric of this community - a welcoming spot to meet, connect, and celebrate. It's a place where locals pop in for a pint after a walk, families gather for a pizza, and visitors discover the charm of the Chew Valley.
The team behind The Pelican are lifelong Chew Valley friends and fellow publicans: siblings Josh and Holly Eggleton, and Josh and Lottie Bryant. Together, they've shaped every part of the renovation and will continue to lead its vision forward.
